RIP: These Are All The Discontinued Cars That Died In 2020 (Full List)

As we (thankfully) leave 2020 behind, these are the cars that rolled off into the sunset

Chevrolet: Impala, Sonic

As the Cadillac CT6 ceased production, so too did the final Chevy Impala roll off the line this year. GM originally planned to shut the Detroit-Hamtramck plant where it built both cars, but on pressure from the United Auto Workers union decided to retool the plant to build the electric GMC Hummer EV instead. Like its luxury sibling, big sedans aren’t selling in the mainstream market either. The Ford Taurus is gone, while the Chrysler 300 and Nissan Maxima hang on by a thread.

While large sedans aren’t popular, small hatchbacks aren’t red-hot, either. Ford killed off the Fiesta in the U.S., and FCA pulled the Fiat 500 from our shores as well. The Chevrolet Sonic bowed out this year too, leaving the Kia Rio or the Mitsubishi Mirage as the only real options for a small, economical hatchback in 2021.
