Ferrari: GTC4Lusso

This is definitely one of the stranger cars on this list, at least if you’re a purist. The Ferrari FF gave way to the GTC4Lusso — a hatchback that eschews what most people consider a Ferrari to be. That’s what makes it interesting though, and perhaps more so as a business study now that Ferrari decided to drop the GTC4Lusso from its lineup.

Ferrari wasn’t very clear as to why it phased out this model, but there are a few theories kicking around. One is that most buyers will pass right by it to buy, say, an F8 Tributo or even a Portofino for a purer GT experience. On the other hand, the Italian automaker may get around to releasing its “Purosangue” crossover, and they needed to make room to accommodate that model in the lineup. “Ferrari” and “SUV” in the same sentence are more alien terms to some than this car ever was, but there you go. To be clear, Ferrari did not announce a direct replacement for this year, at least at time of writing.
