Aston Martin: Rapide

Apart from the ill-fated Cygnet, can you think of a bad-looking Aston Martin? The Rapide took the fantastic styling from the brand’s modern sports coupes and sprinkled in some more practicality. Those looks, four doors and a V12 engine? Sign me up.

Like many of the other entries to die off this year, though, the Rapide is another victim of the time. People don’t want sedans as much as they used to — they want crossovers. That’s where the new DBX comes in, which plays on that practicality card in the company’s latest effort to pull in more customers. As it enters the arena, someone has to go, and so the Rapide rolls off into the history books.
