The Range Rover Velar edges out its little brother, the Evoque, thanks to its air suspension. It’s capable of rising up to 9.9 inches of total ground clearance, quite a bump over the current Evoque’s 8.5 inches. It is more expensive, however, starting off at $49,600.
Under the hood of the Range Rover Velar is anything from a 2.0-liter turbodiesel to a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 in the 2019 SVR. Horsepower ranges anywhere from 177 horsepower at the low end to 567 in the most powerful models. Of course, the mid-range supercharged 3.0-liter V6 puts out 374 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque.
