The Land Rover Discovery is capable of a respectable 11.1 or 11.3 inches of ground clearance. That 0.2 inch difference depends on whether you get the full-on Discovery, or the smaller Sport model. Both come with available air suspension. Prices start at $37,795 for the Discovery Sport, and $52,600 for the Discovery.

Land Rover only fits the Discovery Sport with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four, in two states of tune. You can either have a 237 horsepower version, or there’s a more powerful 286 horsepower version with 295 lb-ft of torque. The Discovery, on the other hand, comes with a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel or a 3.0-liter supercharged gas engine. Both mate up. to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
