4) Toyota Hilux
Toyota sells its Hilux pickup all over the world in every market you can imagine — but not in North America. We get the Toyota Tacoma instead, which is definitely a capable truck in its own right. Let’s face it, the Tacoma is the best-selling truck by a country mile. However, there are some features this Hilux has that makes some of us wish Toyota would actually sell it in the U.S.
At the moment, if you want a diesel engine in a midsize truck, your only choice is the Chevrolet Colorado or GMC Canyon. The Colorado ZR2, in particular, is a beast of a truck with that powertrain. The Toyota Hilux has a turbodiesel engine in global markets, and that would make it an awesome truck to have here. Or, you know, at least give us a diesel Tacoma.
