2025 Ford Bronco Gets Retro-Themed Free Wheeling Package, Just Like Its Smaller Sibling

Ford's sunset-like retro theme dates back to the '70s and '80s

If you’re looking for more of a classic interpretation with your new Bronco, this may be your package.

Last year, Ford brought some more throwback flavor into the compact Bronco Sport’s lineup with the Free Wheeling Package. Fast forward a little more than 12 months, and the Blue Oval is back at it with another Free Wheeling special edition — this time for the baby Bronco’s bigger brother.

Just like with the Bronco Sport, this package is meant to evoke a 1970s and 1980s sort of vibe with the sunset-themed graphics, an Iconic Silver grille, white door handles and red accents for the “BRONCO” font on the front and the 17-inch black wheels. Functionally, the Bronco Free Wheeling is based on the entry-level Big Bend trim, so you get the same sort of equipment like 32-inch all-terrain tires and six available drive modes, but not some of the off-road-focused upgrades you’d get on, say, a Badlands or a Wildtrak. You can, however, still upgrade this Bronco further with the Sasquatch package, like you can normally.

Inside, the red, orange, brown and yellow theme translates to the vinyl and fabric seats, while you also get a host of red accents throughout the instrument panel and center console. You don’t get any additional tech on top of what you’d usually get with a Bronco Big Bend, although this package is available with a Shadow Black-painted roof. Beyond that, you can still get the molded-in-color hardtop or the standard soft top if you want.

While Ford did say the Free Wheeling Package would come to the Bronco in January 2025, it did not announce exactly how much the package will cost just yet. The Bronco Sport Free Wheeling carries a $2,600 premium on top of the Big Bend, so I’d expect a similar ask here, if not a bit more since we’re talking about the larger Bronco. The 2024 Bronco Big Bend will set you back about $42,960 for a four-door model, so don’t be surprised to see the Free Wheeling Package cost you about $46,000 before any additional options.
