All-Electric Alfa Romeo Milano Teaser Offers a Glimpse of What to Expect Its Full Debut in April

We'll see the car's full debut on April 10

These camo-clad Alfa Romeo Milano images are official shots from Stellantis ahead of its April 10th, 2024 debut!

Based on the e-CMP platform that underpins the Jeep Avenger and Peugeot e-2008 the Alfa Romeo Milano will be the brand’s first fully electric vehicle in mass production. There may be a PHEV, or hybrid version offered in some markets as well, but from what was indicated about our market, the Milano will be an EV-only offering.

This might be the make-it-or-break-it moment for the Italian brand. Alfa Romeo’s sales in the United States haven’t exactly been stellar, as the brand sold 10,898 vehicles (15% down from 2022). Given that the Alfa Romeo Tonale recently joined the lineup, some are optimistic about a better 2024. Depending on its launch window, that could be where the small electric Milano plays well toward Alfa’s future-looking goals.

Not only does Alfa Romeo not currently offer an EV, but parent company Stellantis has no BEV product offered in the United States, at least for now. We expect to see that change this year with at least the Fiat 500e’s arrival, though we could see EVs from the automaker’s other brands in the coming months as well. One burning question I have is this: will Alfa Romeo be forced to share running gear with a Dodge or Chrysler product?

There are no official numbers available for the Alfa Romeo Milano, but we do know a little about that e-CMP setup. We expect to see (at least) the 54 kWh battery pack used in the Peugeot e-2008, which could give it a 200 – 250 mile range. Unlike the aforementioned Peugeot, the Milano will come standard with all-wheel drive (AWD). A such, I don’t expect it to match the FWD Peugeot’s 250+mile range.

According to Alfa Romeo, the team responsible for the Milano’s development are the same engineers responsible for the 33 Stradale, which could be epic.

Here’s what the company has to say about its latest creation, from its own Wednesday statement:

The images here show the vehicle at the Balocco test track and proving grounds. We can see the Milano going through its final stages of testing before the April 10th unveiling. According to Alfa Romeo, the objective is to build the best handling car in its class.

Development for the Alfa Romeo Milano falls under the all-stars Domenico Bagnasco, Luigi Domenichelli, and Stefano Cereda. All of them have left their marks on vehicles like the 4C, 8C, Giulia GTA, Tonale and 33 Stradale, to name a few.

Milano will be unveiled to the world on April 10 in Milan (naturally). Stellantis will livestream the debut, and we’ll have more information on that soon. In the meantime, check out one of our latest Alfa Romeo reviews below:
