The redesigned 2014 Toyota Corolla remains the hot tickets in the compact sedan segment. It grew an impressive 21.2% in July over the same month of last year. It’s also the biggest seller year-to-date (YTD). The Honda Civic declined in July, but remains positive for the year and sits comfortably in second place. It’s still within striking distance of the Corolla for the number one spot.
The Nissan Sentra was again the best growing sedan for the segment (53.7% in July), as it nearly took fifth place from the Ford Focus. Dodge Dart was the remaining sedan to grow in double-digit percent numbers (at 23.0%). Hyundai Elantra, Chevy Cruze, and Kia Forte had an especially rough month.
