The Honda Civic Type-R Concept made its official debut in Geneva giving us a good look at the design we can expect to see on the production Type-R when it debuts in Europe in the fall of 2015.
They’re calling it a “racing car for the road” with sleek styling that gives it the air and drive of a performance vehicle. The rear spoiler not only looks incredible, but has been specifically track-tested and angled to provide downforce.
The front grilles on the Honda Civic Type-R Concept have also been enlarged and there’s a hood air outlet all to help with keeping the high performance engine cool. Even the fenders have been optimized with a wide flare to accommodate 20″ tires and air outlets to improve air flow.
When the production version debuts, it will be the first European model with Honda’s new VTEC Turbo engine that’s a part of its Earth Dreams Technology program. It will be a 2-liter, direct-injection, 4-cylinder turbo with 276 horsepower and will be Euro 6 compliant.
