Cher calls BS on hybrid cars and we call BS on Cher

Here’s yet another reason why celebrities are best served by keeping their opinions to themselves.

According to Foxnews.com in a recent interview promoting her movie Burlesque Cher said, “I researched all the hybrid stuff and its pretty much all bulls**t,” when asked about what car she wanted to buy.

That’s pretty funny because according to the Federal government the Prius is still the most fuel efficient car you can buy in America.

But now that Cher has called BS on hybrids…the government scientists doing the federal MPG rating should retire.

Of course the 64-year-old legend has probably used her fair share of fossil fuels. We would humbly suggest that if she really cares about her carbon footprint enough to “research hybrid MPG figures” she might consider flying commercially to her next gig.

We haven’t “researched it” but we strongly suspect that one flight on a private jet burns more fossil fuels than she could save in 100 lifetimes with a fleet of Prius hybrids.

Just saying Cher….

BTW: Her “Burlesque” co-star Stanley Tucci also might consider taking a public speaking timeout because according to him, “If the stuff that’s there actually worked, like the hybrids, which are questionable at best. There is this huge promotion and then you look at the gas mileage… it is not that different at all. It just makes people feel better.”

But than again the rest of us actually have to go to a gas station and fill up our own cars unlike Cher and Tucci….we suspect from these stupid comments.

Just for your information here are the top 5 most fuel efficient cars in America. And guess what…4 out of the 5 are hybrids?

1) Toyota Prius:

EPA estimates: 51 MPG city/48 MPG highway/50 MPG combined

2) Honda Civic Hybrid:

EPA estimates: 40 MPG city/45 MPG highway/42 MPG combined

3) Honda Insight:

EPA estimates: 40 MPG city/43 MPG highway/41 MPG combined

4) Ford Fusuion Hybrid:

EPA estimates: 41 MPG city/36 MPG highway/38 MPG combined

5) Smart Fortwo
