As you’d expect on the internet, there are some shady actors out there.
Those of you who have been part of the TFL community for awhile will know that we are a small, driven organization largely driven by your support. Whether you watch and engage with our YouTube videos, visit our website, pledge through Patreon, donate to TFL directly, or all of the above, we would not be able to produce the sort of content you all demand without your continued support.
As the company continues to grow, we have to bring in more resources to support creating more content. For that, we turn to third-party sponsors, most of whom are keen to work with us and provide vital resources to keep TFLcar, TFLtruck, TFLnow, TFLoffroad and TFLclassics going. Today, we wanted to mention a former sponsor who ultimately did not end up supporting the effort to create the best content we could for your benefit.
HD Night Vision Glasses – the story
HD Night Vision Glasses is an organization we thought may fit decently into the TFL wheelhouse. We all have experience driving at night, and have to deal with the issue of nighttime glare. The company promised to financially support the channel should we produce an advertisement on our TFLtruck YouTube channel and website.
Two weeks ago, we signed an agreement and produced a short commercial to go in our Ram Rebel vs. Power Wagon video on TFLtruck below:
Unfortunately, after we held up our end, and placed the ads directing you all toward the HD Night Vision Glasses product, the company failed to hold up their end of the deal. They did not make good on their end of the agreement, and we pulled the advertising content from our channel and website.
We wanted to bring this to your attention as a recommendation against doing business with the company, if you did happen to see the ad. That recommendation is not just for our sake, but also as a warning to the company’s potential customers. When you spend your hard-earned money on a product, you should get timely and ethical service. If the company is willing to lapse on their deal with TFL, then they may also fail to address the needs of their customers.
When we make sponsorship arrangements, we always try to do so in a way that doesn’t pull focus away from what really matters: the content you ask us to provide. While TFL will take great care to make sure this won’t happen again, we wanted to apologize to our customers for the mishap.
