Dodge Announces a Special 2025 Durango SRT Hellcat (Yes, Another One) Called the Hammerhead

I'd argue this is probably the most understated Durango Hellcat yet

Dodge plans to make hay while the Hemi V8 is still shining…until the end of this year.

If you’re feeling a little bit of déjà vu right now, don’t worry, you aren’t going crazy. Dodge did in fact reveal two special 20th Anniversary Editions of thundering Hemi V8s in its iconic SUV: the R/T 20th Anniversary and the SRT Hellcat-themed Silver Bullet, and a Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI. Now, it’s back with yet another special ‘Last Call’ Durango, before the current-generation Hemi finally bows out at the end of 2024. This particular special model is called the 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Hammerhead.

“Nailed it”, Dodge says with Tuesday’s announcement (yep, we see what you did there). At it’s core, you’re still looking at the same hopped up Durango that’s been charging down American roads since 2021. Under the hood, there’s a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 making 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. You still get a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 11.5 seconds, per Dodge’s own estimates, and a top speed of 180 mph.

What the Hammerhead brings to the table is a strangely understated example of the volcanic power that lurks within. The dark blue ‘Night Moves’ paint scheme doesn’t have loud-as-you-like stripes integrated into the look, nor do you get Brass Monkey wheels. Instead, you get a set of Satin Carbon 20-inch wheels and a Satin Black-painted hood. Apart from the badging and the hood scoop, it looks like any other Durango SXT or Citadel taking the kids to school…until you stamp on the loud pedal, of course.

Inside, the navy blue exterior balances out with lighter Hammerhead Gray Laguna leather seats (hence the ‘Hammerhead’ name). Embroidered into the headrests are sepia SRT Hellcat logos, and you get a similar sepia and silver treatment for the contrast stitching.

Dodge says all the three most recent Durango special editions, including the Hammerhead, are available to order right now. Don’t expect it to come cheaply, though, as it will sell “in a limited-production run” for $115,315 a pop. The company did not specify exactly how many special edition models will be Hammerheads, but I wouldn’t expect too many to make their way to dealers. Fortunately, you can track one down using Dodge’s Horsepower Locator website, and the automaker says it is offering a $10 per horsepower cash allowance (so $7,100 in this case) through the Dodge Power Dollars program.
