Stellantis Recalls More Than 1 Million Vehicles for Rear Camera Display Issue

This recall affects most of the company's lineup between the 2021 and 2023 model years, including several Jeep and Ram models

FCA parent Stellantis is recalling more than a million vehicles, according newly available information.

Some 1.16 million Stellantis-built vehicles in North America are under a new recall campaign for a problem where rearview cameras may not display properly. The recall population includes 1,033,433 vehicles sold in the United States, per documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), while the remaining 126,000 are in Canada.

From October 23, 2023 through June 6, 2024, FCA US LLC (Stellantis’ North American arm) investigated the potential issue related to rearview cameras failing to display when drivers shifted vehicles into reverse. That investigation included reviewing warranty data, field records and customer assistnace records. the Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance (TSRC) division noticed a software issue exists on certain vehicles, taking them out of compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
