Does slow and steady win the race? 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S shows that it can be fast and steady in this interpretation of the Tortoise and the Hare fable.
The GT S is powered by a new 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 503 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque that is available from 1,750 rpm. That is a lot of power for a relatively small displacement engine. The 7-speed AMG automated dual-clutch transmission delivers the power. It’s capable of a 3.7 second 0-60 MPH sprint according to Mercedes.

The 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S will go on sale in April of 2015 at a starting price of $129,900. It may sound like a lot, but it’s actually competitively priced when you consider the Porsche 911 GTS ($115,195) and the 911 Turbo ($151,100).
