Subaru Levorg Concept makes its world premiere at 2013 Tokyo Motor Show

The Subaru Levorg Concept points directly at Subaru’s new, bold design direction. Slightly dilute the Subaru Levorg Concept and you have, what I suspect is, the next Legacy/Outback design. Far less bulbous and inconsistent in design language over the current models, the aesthetics smack of Mazda’s Kodo design language – and that’s not a bad thing.

The name could be better…

“The Levorg concept hints at a new vehicle currently under development for market launch in Japan in 2014. The name ‘Levorg’ comes from a combination of the words ‘Legacy’, ‘Revolution’ and ‘Touring’, and the concept will blend the practicality of a tourer and the stylish design and feel of a sports car.

The Levorg will also feature an all-new 1.6-litre horizontally-opposed Boxer engine with direct injection turbo (DIT) technology. The Subaru-developed engine is designed to offer smooth performance and greater environmental efficiency. The new engine will also be on show on the Subaru motor show stand as a technology exhibit.” – – Subaru Media

I will stay on top of this story and post more details the minute I find them!

The Subaru Levorg Concept will debut with the Subaru Crossover 7 Concept – a vehicle that will replace the Subaru Tribeca. I believe the Subaru Crossover 7 Concept will share a ton of mechanical and body components with the upcoming Toyota Highlander. Don’t believe me? See for yourself!

Is this a Toyota Highlander replacement AND a Subaru 7-seat crossover!? Look carefully and you decide!
