You may think it's a typical hatchback, but Kia begs to differ

Will the 2020 Kia Soul come with an all-wheel drive option?

Prior to its official debut at the 2018 LA Auto Show, Kia teased this image of a lime green 2020 Kia Soul. This doesn’t reveal much, as you’d expect, but it does tell us at least three things. One, Kia will once more offer the Soul in funkier colors again (instead of just white, gray, silver, red and black like we have now). Two, the 2020 Kia Soul will adopt the popular floating roof design similar to its competitors. Finally, the Soul retains its boxy design, which we knew from the prototypes.

On the design front, we also know from the prototypes that the Soul will adopt a design like the Hyundai Kona. That means thin LED running lights at the top, with larger light pods underneath. Around the back, the 2020 Kia Soul still has those large, vertical taillights, but it also has center-mounted exhaust pipes – an interesting change from the old model.

The big question mark hovering over the Soul is whether Kia will fit their crossover with all-wheel drive. They continue to bill this car as a crossover. Equipping all-wheel drive to the 201 horsepower Turbo model could be a winning combination. Kia will also offer a naturally-aspirated Base model and an all-electric variant.

We’ll have more information on the 2020 Kia Soul when it makes its debut in LA. Stay tuned to TFLcar.com for more updates!
