2018 Audi Q5 is All New with a Predictive Quattro AWD System That Can Be FWD [Video Review]

The 2018 Audi Q5 is the next step for Audi’s most popular car in the United States. Yep, the Q5 sold 38,967 units through October of this year, which is far more than the A4 or any other Audi. While changes are more evolutionary than revolutionary, the 2018 Q5 is an all-new vehicle.

Big news is underneath with the latest Quattro AWD system with Ultra technology, but you may never feel that it’s there. At least, this is what Audi is trying to achieve. The Quattro with Ultra is a predictive system, which can disengage power from going to the rear wheels under some circumstances. It makes the vehicle more efficient, without sacrificing all-wheel-drive traction.

It is a little bit longer for more interior space, but it weighs a little bit less, and it is quicker than the Q5 is replaces. The Q5 comes with just one powertrain option for the United States (the SQ5 model is also coming, and it will get more power). Propulsion comes from a 2.0L turbocharged TFSI four with 252 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 273 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 rpm. It’s routed to the new Quattro system via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Audi says that a 0-60 MPH can be dispatched in 5.9 seconds.

Naturally, the interior receives a host of updates as well. Check out the video for the latest features. The 2018 Audi Q5 goes on sale in the Spring of 2017. Pricing and fuel economy estimates are not yet available.
