Chevrolet Showcases Limited Production Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition at SEMA [News]

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7.R | 2015 SEMA

The Chevrolet Corvette has a legacy both on and off the race track. When the Corvette Z06 returned to the line-up with a formidable 650 horsepower supercharged V8, it proved itself once again to be a performance leader. Celebrating that connection and inspired by the Corvette Racing program is the 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition.

Production of the C7.R will be limited to only 650 units; 500 allocated to the U.S. market). Available in Corvette Racing Yellow (a shade different from Velocity Yellow), Long Beach Red Metallic or black. Every C7.R will be outfitted with the Z07 Performance Package, Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and a special serialized VIN.

Corvette aficionados should watch for the following exterior styling cues: C7.R Edition graphics, black 19-inch wheels with yellow accent stripe and Corvette Racing-logo center caps, naked carbon fiber ground effects, carbon fiber hood with exposed section, grille and vents painted in Spectra Gray Metallic.

Here is a video overview of all the 2015 SEMA cars and trucks from Chevy. Check out the COPO Camaro or the F-150 EcoBoost with a manual transmission.

All this pizzazz is backed up with serious performance numbers. The Z07 package can swiftly move the C7.R from zero to sixty mph in 2.95 seconds with the 8-speed automatic (3.2 seconds with 7-speed manual). Consider this an 11-second supercar. Quarter-mile is put away in 10.95 seconds at 127 mph with the 8-speed auto and 11.2 seconds if you like to row your own gears.

The Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition will be shown with more than 20 Chevrolet concepts and production vehicles this week at the SEMA Show, in Las Vegas. Also on display is the new LT4 crate engine packages that allow the power of the Corvette Z06 to be used by hot rod builders in their vintage cars and trucks.

The Chevrolet Z06 Convertible is the fastest topless convertible ever built by GM. Check it out as this rocket of a convertible car rolls onto the stage at SEMA in Las Vegas.
