Mitsubishi has released more photos and information about the new Outlander, confirming the “new face” of the company is attached to their big SUV.
The company will unveil the Outlander at a press conference scheduled for 11 a.m. Eastern Time on April 2 at the New York International Auto Show. Previously, Mitsubishi announced the press conference as a way to unveil their new design philosophy, but gave little other information.
The new Outlander’s styling is an updated version of the current model, with a smoother front end and stylized chrome accents that run from the headlights down to the fog lights. The dual chrome strips surrounding the three-diamond logo have more space than the ones on the current model, and they are more asymmetrical, with the bottom strip much wider than the top.
In the back, the same chrome motif is used, as a single chrome strip surrounds the logo and connects the taillights. The view from the back is a bit more conservative than the front, but it gives the Outlander a more modern look than the current model.
Mitsubishi said they also improved the vehicle’s ride, handling and throttle response, and made the interior a more pleasant place to be with a new design and improved noise levels.
TFLcar will be at the New York show live, so stay tuned for updates.
