The fastest Vettes of all time are getting ever closer to production. We already have official pricing and certified horsepower numbers for the 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06. Now, TFLcar catches the Z06 coupe and convertible prototypes testing at high altitude of Colorado.
It’s not easy to identify the Z06 with all the camouflage. However, the grille, modified and wider fender flares, and the air intake ducts in front of the rear wheels give away the beast that lies within. Of course, it’s the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 with SAE certified 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of twist. This torque monster makes 457 lb-ft just off idle! The 7-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmissions will be available.
The Z06 Coupe will start at $78,995 and the Convertible at $83,995. These prices include destination charges. It is more expensive than the Challenger Hellcat, bu it’s not a bad deal considering that the previous generation ZR1 Corvette started at $113,000.
The new Z06 will go on sale in early 2015.
