2019 Chevy Blazer Starts off at $29,995 – Undercuts the Competition [News]

The 2019 Blazer rings in cheaper than some of its midsize competition.

Solid axles or not, the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer is here once again.

Chevy revealed the new Blazer – now a midsize crossover – back in June. Now, we have official pricing for the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer as well. The entry-level L trim will start at $29,995, including a $1,195 destination fee. That means Chevy’s latest crossover rings in at a competitive price against its competition.

By comparison, two of the Blazer’s most important rivals, the Ford Edge and the Nissan Murano both start over $30,000, albeit just over. The Edge SE starts at $30,990, while the Murano S starts at $31,795. But what do you get for a smidge less than $30,000? The 2019 Chevy Blazer L comes with a 2.5-liter, naturally-aspirated inline-four that makes 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Standard features on the base trim include an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple Car Play compatibility, dual-zone climate control, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

There are two other trims available on the Blazer, the RS and the Premier. They come with more standard features, and higher starting prices as well. Chevrolet hasn’t revealed exact pricing on those models yet, but their website does show an RS equipped up to a $41,795 MSRP. Regardless of trim, the Blazer will be on sale early next year.

By upgrading to the higher trim levels, you lose the 2.5-liter four-cylinder and get a 3.6-liter V6 in its place. Horsepower jumps to 305, while torque goes up to 269 lb-ft. However, while this engine is standard in the RS and Premier, it’s also optional in the L trim.
