Jeep is wrapping up its Twelve 4 Twelve series with a bright-contrast special edition called the Switchback.
Over the past year, Jeep has been rolling out various themes across both Wrangler and Gladiator lineups as part of twelve limited-edition runs. Here we are at the finale, which the automaker is rolling out as the Wrangler Switchback. Essentially, what we’re looking at here is a mix of colors akin to the parts swapping some folks do on their own Jeeps.
Specifically, the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Switchback comes based on the Rubicon X model, available in either two- or four-door forms. You get Gecko (green) accents throughout, including the grille surround, beadlock wheel rings, hood decals and a splash of additional color on the swing gate. Couple to that Gloss Black or Sting-Gray hood, doors and hardtop, and you get a level of contrast Jeep is hoping appeals to the “creativity of contemporary gaming and digital culture”. There’s a certain military-themed game where this particular Wrangler would be right at home.
The 2027 Jeep Wrangler Switchback finishes off the overall exterior theme with the power bulge hood, ’41’ graphic on the sides, black tow hooks and black Jeep and Trail Rated badging. Inside, you get Switchback-debossed black Nappa leather seats, Sea Salt Nappa-trimmed dash elements, pearl and lime accent stiching and, as with many of the other special editions, special cupholder and swing gate plaques.
Orders for the Wrangler Switchback open up next month, with the package itself setting you back $2,870. Now, considering you have to get a Rubicon X to have the Switchback at all, you’re looking at a full starting price of $66,695 for the two-door (including destination), or $69,995 for the four-door.
Jeep’s last Twelve 4 Twelve model caps off the year that gave us the Wrangler Moab 392, Whitecap, 85th Anniversary Edition, Willys 392, Rockslide, Rewind, America250, Sarge, Laredo, Smoky Mountain and JL-2A Special Editions. Most of those are out at dealers now — I happened to spot a Rewind at our local dealer this week — but if you’re looking for the most gamer-themed special edition Wrangler, this is probably your best pick.
