The Kia Seltos gets more expensive at the high end, but stays about the same across lower trims.
In the pecking order of Kia’s SUV lineup, the Seltos aims to bring buyers into the fold with smart packaging, all-wheel drive capability and an attractive price tag. Since it’s just coming off a facelift for the 2024 model year, things aren’t changing too much for 2025. One conspicuous part of the automaker’s announcement, though, is the statement of “improved materials and finishes” for the interior that “elevate the driving experience”. In other words, folks have complained over the past few years that all the hard plastics make the Seltos feel a little too downmarket, and Kia says it’s now done something about that.
Other updates for the 2025 Kia Seltos include standard reverse park distance warning on mid-range EX and top-end SX trims. A smart power liftgate also comes on the SX and the EX AWD by default. The S keeps the same price as before, but actually loses the dual 10.25-inch displays on the nicer models for the LX’s 4.25-inch TFT screen and analog gauges. To compensate, though, the S does get a power up/down driver’s window (it was only power down before), as well as new 17-inch wheels.
The 2025 Kia Seltos keeps its two existing engine and transmission options. Lower-end models including the LX, S and the EX get a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder putting out 146 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque through a continuously variable transmission. The LX, weirdly, only comes with all-wheel drive, while the other two N/A models are available as either front- or all-wheel drive models. The X-Line and SX, for their part, get a much snappier turbocharged 1.6-liter four-pot that manages 195 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. In that case, power makes its way to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
2025 Kia Seltos price walk
Including Kia’s $1,375 destination fee, pricing for the latest Seltos ranges between no change and $1,000 more, depending on the trim. The S avoids a price hike thanks to the de-contenting with the displays, while every other trim model sees at least a small uplift.
