2025 Toyota Supra Keeps Its Manual, But Loses the Four-Cylinder Option

It's now 3.0-liter only, though you can get it with a manual or an automatic

Thanks to losing its four-cylinder, the latest Toyota Supra gets substantially more expensive.

Hard to believe, but it’s already been nearly half a decade since the new Supra landed on the scene. It’s moving forward into 2025 without any huge changes like a next-generation model or substantial overhaul, but it is losing it’s 2.0-liter option. As was the case with its original launch, buying a brand-new Supra will get you the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six, and that’s it.

Now, there are a couple reasons you could argue that’s a good idea. The first is that most people want (and probably actually buy) the 3.0-liter models anyway. It also offers some space between the “base” four-pot Supra and the GR 86, so you have a clearer division line between a small and relatively affordable sports car, and your beefier, brawnier machine.

Since the four-cylinder is out of the equation, the 2025 Toyota Supra now solely manages 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. Even better, you can get it with your typical 8-speed auto or a 6-speed manual, whether you choose the 3.0 or the 3.0 Premium trim. If you strongly prefer rowing your own gears — and I’ll go ahead and raise my hand here — the 6-speed is a no-cost option.

As you would expect, though, dropping the cheaper engine means the baseline price to get into a Supra at all is $57,345. That’s about $850 higher than the equivalent 3.0 was for 2024. The 3.0 Premium actually tips the scale just over $60,000, as it is now $60,495 to start.

Feature for feature, trim for trim, the 2025 Toyota Supra is no different than the 2024 model. The 3.0 Premium still offers up niceties like leather seats and a 12-speaker JBL audio system, as well as a wireless phone charger. If you’re holding out for major Supra changes, though, you’re fine grabbing a 2024. This 2025 model even comes in the same four colors as before: Absolute Zero, Renaissance Red 2.0, Nocturnal (black) and the extra-cost Stratosphere blue. Your interior, on the other hand, comes in either black or hazelnut.

2025 Toyota Supra models will arrive on dealer lots this fall.
