Audi’s back: The Audi Q3 is great!
All of us agreed immediately, upon first seeing the 2019 Audi Q3 S Line TFSI Quattro that it looked great. It looks athletic, handsome and sophisticated with a hint of whimsy. Unusual for a German car – other than BMW/Mini. We also agreed that it is a shame Audi is omitting real tailpipes on a majority of their models, including the Q3.
Power, performance and prices
The 2019 Audi Q3, which is mostly built in Germany and Hungary, has a starting price of $34,700. For that price you get a 228 horsepower 2.0-liter, TFSI four-cylinder engine that makes 258 lb-ft of torque. It comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Audi’s lauded Quattro all-wheel drive system.
Given our loaded vehicle had the S Line package, we got larger 20-inch wheels with aggressive rubber. We also got lots of trim upgrades including a snazzy interior, exterior and electronics package. Still, nothing about the S Line package gave this Q3 a performance edge over the base model.
That’s something to keep in mind given our nearly $10,000 premium… our 2019 Audi Q3 S Line has an MSRP of $44,990.
In this video
We are bringing back the TFL Buddy Review. Tommy, Roman and Nathan (along with an unfortunate cameraman) squeeze into the tight confines of the 2019 Audi Q3. Keep in mind, we do several tests during a Buddy Review drive-loop.
During the drive we critique the interior, exterior, powertrain and performance. We do a fully-loaded, real world 0 to 60 mph run with four full-grown men. We get a chance to discuss the history of Quattro, our personal tastes with its styling and the Q3’s potential to help Audi’s sales. Along the way, we also test the Audi’s voice recognition system, navigation and even the ride.
Yep, we do it all in a highly packed, entertaining video!
