Owner Review: Dude, I Love My New 2019 Mazda CX-5!

We have been asking you all to send us pictures of your recently purchased new vehicles. We want to know what your buying experience was like and whether or not you love (or hate) your new ride. Sometimes the best people to review cars are the owners themselves. You guys get to (and have to) live with these cars every day. As a result you learn very quickly what you like and dislike about these cars. If you want your car to be featured, send us an email at info@tflcar.com!

This review comes from Gene M, who recently bought a 2019 Mazda CX-5:

The Purchase

I purchased a 2019 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD with the Tech package in sonic silver with the black leather interior and the 17″ wheels, not the 19″ wheels (Roads in PA are pretty awful). I traded my 2017 Mazda 3 sport hatchback with 25,000 miles for $14,000. The dealer got the MSRP down from $30,XXX to $27,850 with incentives and other dealer discounts. I was also offered a 6 year, 125,000 mile bumper-to-bumper factory warranty for $999, which I feel was a great value considering how much tech is on these modern cars and for how much I drive.

Competition?

What surprised me, is that I cross shopped the new RAV4 (XLE AWD) and it was only $500 more than the Mazda, despite being on sale for ~3 weeks. Ultimately, the Mazda feels much more upscale and drives much better, but I can respect people who chose the Rav4, as it is bigger and does get better mileage.

So Far, So Good!

After 500 miles and one week of ownership, it has been a fantastic car, and has surpassed all my expectations. Over the 500 miles, I’ve been averaging 28.5 MPG in 60% highway driving and extreme cold (-22 with windchill here for the last few days). The addition of Android auto and the optional Bose sound system also was nice compared to the Toyota, which does not offer AA, nor a premium sound option for that trim. AWD system in the 3″ of snow we got the day after I bought it (I was livid about all the salt on it with only double digits of miles on it), was fantastic, no traction was broken and it was very confidence inspiring, especially with the factory Yokohama all-seasons.

Thanks again to Gene for sending us this owner review. We love to hear the real stories of new car owners. If you have your own purchasing story, and some photos of your new ride, send us a write-up! info@tflcar.com

We have also had the chance to drive the latest Mazda CX-5, in the snow no less. Check out the video below to see what we thought:
