The entire Audi A6 and A7 lineups get a mid-cycle update for the 2016 model year. This includes the Audi S6 and S7. There revised headlights and taillights, the front grille has been updated with a wider look, and the interior gets a few new options as well.
The base 2.0-liter turbocharged engine in the A6 also gets an update along with the car. It now make 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque @ 1,600 rpm. This is 32 horsepower more than the outgoing 2015 model.
The 2.0T comes in two variants: front-wheel-drive with the 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic, and the Quattro all-wheel-drive with the 8-speed Tiptronic. The former is rated at 24 MPG city, 35 MPG on the highway, and 28 MPG combined. The Quattro version has a rating of 22 MPG in the city, 32 MPG on the highway, and 26 MPG combined.
The FWD version keeps the curb weight down to 3,803 pounds, and Audi says it’s capable of 6.7 second sprints to 60 mph. Not bad for a midsize luxury sedan that can also get 28 MPG combined. This model starts at $46,200. The Quattro model starts at $48,400.
The 3.0T Quattro now makes 333 horsepower and starts at $57,400. The 3.0 TDI Quattro returns with same output of 428 lb-ft of torque and starts at $59,500
All 2016 Audi A6 and A7 cars come standard with the latest MMI infotainment system with Audi Connect and 4G LTE.
