October 2014 was a record or best selling month for several manufacturers, brands, and nameplates. The thoroughly updated 2015 Toyota Camry is reaching dealerships now, and this helped the mark take back the best selling midsize sedan position for the month and for the year. The Camry improved 13.8% over October of last year. Honda Accord still had a good month with 7.8% growth. It firmly sits in the second sales position.
Nissan Altima hopped over the Ford Fusion for third spot, although both had a good month. Chevy Malibu slid down from fifth to eight with a poor month. The 2015 Chrysler 200 is gaining sales momentum with a hug 40% improvement over last year.
The most improved midsize sedans are still at the bottom. The stylish Mazda6 is best improved Year-To-Date (YTD) with 26.3%. Subaru continues to double sales with the all-new 2015 Subaru Legacy. It has potential to pass the Passat for monthly sales numbers this year.
