Honda Civic Type R: Please Bring it to the USA! [Paris]

28443_Honda_Civic_Typ_RThe hot hatch. We know them. We love them. We haven’t seen enough of them.

This is especially true for Honda, who in the past produced enthusiast cars. That’s right, kids. Honda used to have some high revving vehicles, geared towards sporty driving.

They are bringing that idea back with the new Honda Civic Type R concept, currently shown at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

Powered by a 2.0L inline 4 cylinder turbocharged engine, the hot hatch puts out 276 horses. Power goes to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic…just kidding! Six-speed high revving manual transmission. Did you expect anything less?

While Honda promises the Civic Type R to be tons of fun while driving in normal mode, those wanting even more driving pleasure can activate the +R button, which changes engine response, torque mapping, and steering inputs to deliver a much more dynamic driving experience.

Also new is the four-point Adaptive Damper System, which is able to adjust the suspension based on road conditions, allowing for a more exhilarating ride when the driver demands it, while still keeping things comfortable on a daily commute.
