Tesla made an announcement at its investor meeting that the company sold 2,400 Model S all electric sedan last quarter (Oct – Dec, 2013). This number may not seem that high over a three month period, but the car actually outsold the Ford C-Max Energi over the same period. This is even more impressive, considering that its price can be several times greater than other electrics.
The company said that its California-based factory has reached capacity of 400 vehicles per week, and does not have plans to increase output in the near future.
The good news sent the company stock (ticker: TSLA) to a record high in after-hours trading to $218.09.
