The 2014 Infiniti Q50 which debuted at the Chicago Auto Show back in January will finally be be hitting showrooms on August 5th.
This premium sports-sedan was part of a special pre-sale program first announced in March at the New York International Auto Show. That program ended on June 30th, far exceeding Infiniti’s expectations and becoming the most successful pre-sale program in the company’s history with 3,650 orders.
Those who took advantage of the 2014 Infiniti Q50 pre-sale program now have until October 31st to complete their purchases.
The 2014 Infiniti Q50 is the first of the company’s cars to debut with the new Q badge that harkens back to the hugely successful 1989 Q45. Going forward, all sedans, coupes and convertibles will have a Q badge while crossovers and SUVs will feature a QX badge.
The vehicle is being offered as either a 328 hp 3.7-liter V6 or a 360 net horsepower 3.5-liter hybrid. Both will be available with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel-drive including versions with special sport appearance and performance features like sport brakes and sport suspension tuning.
Direct Adaptive Steering and Active Lane Control will be two additional features designed to enhance the driving experience in the 2014 Infiniti Q50. The first is an electric power steering system that allows the wheels to be controlled independently and has four different driver-chosen modes. The second is designed to help a driver use fewer steering inputs in challenging conditions and to more easily keep the vehicle in its lane.
The 2014 Infiniti Q50 will also feature InTuition which is a system that allows for a range of customizable driver settings that can be linked directly to each driver’s Infiniti Intelligent Key. Additionally, there’s the Infiniti InTouch system which offers new next-gen connectivity features and includes dual touch-screens.
Pricing starts at $36,700 for the 3.7-liter and $43,950 USD for the hybrid.
