What is the World’s Most Beautiful Gasoline Pump?
In this video we visit the Classic Gas Museum just outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico to find out.
Of course cars and gasoline go together like peanut butter and jelly…you really can’t have one without the other.
But did you know that over the decades designers also spent their energy on not just making car’s look beautiful but also gasoline pumps, oil cans, gasoline advertisements, billboards and even signs.
Yes, that’s right it is easy to forget that at one time in history gas station actually competed for customers.
Check out this video as we look into the art and design of the gas station.
Editor’s note: One man’s junk is another man’s fortune. Some of the items seen in this collection may seem to be junk, but not to the well trained eye. Some of those beat-up old wheels go for hundreds of dollars and some of the larger signs go for thousands. Signs, like the one prominently shown on this video, are sought-after collector’s pieces and can bring thousands (possibly, over $10,000) to the right collector.
