The Lexus LF-Gh stands for Future Grand-Touring Hybrid, and as you can tell by these photos the new Lexus hybrid concept tries to balance both function and style.
In fact Lexus says that this new concept is a break from it’s traditional past.
“Customers have been waiting for a bold concept like this from Lexus,”says Mark Templin, Lexus Division group vice president and general manager. “We look forward to their feedback and integrating some of these exciting design features into future Lexus vehicles.”
Once you get past the futuristic front end of the new car you’ll note that Lexus is minimizing the car’s exhaust by hiding the tailpipes from view.
Lexus says, “the use of distinctive tail lamps and intricately designed reflectors behind all-red lenses contribute to a strong visual presence. Judicious use of slim chrome trim elements in the bumper exhaust and integrated diffuser adds a subtle premium touch.”
No word or photos yet of the Lexus LF-Gh hybrid concept’s engine or interior, but the car will official debut in New York next week, and we’ll be on hand to bring you all of the important details.
“Although only a concept, we hope the LF-Gh will resonate with our customers worldwide, and communicate our intention to once again advance ideas about the face of Lexus luxury in the years to come,” Says Kengo Matsumoto, general manager of Toyota’s Lexus Design Division.
But while you can’t purchase the Lexus LF-Gh hybrid today, you can buy the company’s newest hybrid the 2011 Lexus CT 200h. Check out our first drive video of the CT 200h below:
