U.S.-Spec 2024 Nissan GT-R Plays the Greatest Hits With Skyline and T-Spec Takumi Editions

Both cars will arrive this summer

These 2024 Nissan GT-R special editions gin up the classic R-34 in their design.

Right after the automaker exhibited the JDM-spec GT-R overseas, Nissan dropped two special editions of the current GT-R for us. Each showing up this summer in unspecified but “very limited numbers”, both the Skyline Edition and the T-Spec Takumi Edition certainly give off swan song vibes, lending more credence to the notion that we’re nearing the end of the road after 15 model years of the R35 GT-R.

Based on the standard 2024 Nissan GT-R Premium, the Skyline Edition brings an immediately recognizable (at least, if you know the R34) Bayside Blue hue as well as a Sora Blue interior. Otherwise, Godzilla is the same as ever, what with the 565-horsepower 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6, all-wheel drive badassery we’ve come to love over many, many years.

The 2024 Nissan GT-R T-Spec Takumi Edition goes a bit further in the modifications department than its Skyline Edition counterpart. Here, you obviously get the T-Spec package with Rays forged wheels, wider fenders, carbon ceramic brakes and other Nismo-sourced tweaks (without the Nismo’s 600-horsepower or ludicrously high price tag), as well as Midnight Purple paint and a Mori Green interior.

This car “honors the eponymous takumi master craftspeople responsible for hand-assembling each GT-R VR38DETT engine. The red engine badge [shown above] signifies an elevated level of attention to precise engine tolerances and component balancing during assembly, making these examples of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 even more desirable.” You also get a gold-colored VIN plate with the T-Spec Takumi Edition.

Exact pricing information is not available for either of these special editions yet, though we should know more about that closer to the release. Hopefully, we’ll get production numbers as well, so we know just how exclusive these possibly final versions of the R35 GT-R will be.
