Nathan and Michael took a trip up to the Rocky Mountains. They were greeted by a fleet of prototype Fords. Among these was a 2019 Ford Explorer prototype undergoing some high elevation testing.
Spy Shots
The silhouette is fairly reminiscent of the current generation. However, Ford had the front fascia and rear of the car covered in cladding and camouflage to help cover up the new model year changes.
Explorer Performance Variant?
A few weeks ago, we were sent some pictures of a similar 2019 Ford Explorer prototype.
However, that earlier model had some low-profile performance tires, indicating that Ford may be building a competitor for the upcoming Chevy Tahoe RSR. It could also compete with the Dodge Durango SRT. Could this be the same vehicle as the one in those photos? Drop a comment below and let us know what you think.
