Volvo has been on a tear lately, introducing a whole new lineup of cars in their 90 series, including the finally-revealed V90 Cross Country. Could there be another car coming from the Swedish automaker? Upon one of TFL’s weekly trips up to the mountains, Roman and Andre managed to spot something quite unfamiliar sporting the Volvo badge. They found two variants of the V40, a compact hatchback offered in Europe, doing some high altitude testing up in the Rocky Mountains. Seeing a European market car in the US always raises some questions, but we think the biggest question remains: Is the compact Volvo V40 T4 coming to America?
The compact segment is on fire right now with a plethora of good offerings from a number of companies. Cars such as the Audi A3 and the Mercedes GLA make up the US market where the V40 would compete. Now of course we don’t have any idea if the V40 will actually come to the US, but we sure hope it does. It is a very sharp looking car and it would be great to see how the Swedes stack up against Europe’s finest in the luxury compact segment.
To see what Roman and Andre think of the V40, be sure to watch the whole video, and also keep your eyes peeled to see if we will actually be getting the Volvo V40.
