What do the new 2017 Fiat 124 Spider, Mazda MX-5 Miata, MINI Cooper Convertible, and the VW Beetle Convertible have in common? They are all fun little roadsters and they all get compared here back-to-back by TFLcar’s Roman Mica.
The 124 Spider is a modern interpretation on the classic roadster by Fiat. It shares its chassis and some interior components with the Mazda MX-5 Miata, but Fiat spent a long time tuning the chassis and how the turbocharged engine mates to the car.
Everybody knows the Mazda MX-5 Miata, and the latest generation of car carries on the tradition of the small and fun-to-drive roadster. The Miata is powered by Mazda’s 2.0-liter SKYACTIV engine that is naturally aspirated, but nonetheless fun to drive.
The MINI Cooper Convertible represents the affordable side of topless motoring in a MINI. It offers a three-cylinder turbocharged engine and an option to transport four people. There are also endless way to customize your MINI. It is offers a unique driving experience.
Finally, the VW Beetle Convertible is another choice for taking four people out for topless fun. This one is powered by a torquey 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and offers more room and comfort for the rear seat passengers than the MINI Convertible.
