Review: Is it possible the 2011 Nissan Juke actually combines Japanese quality with French design?

2011-Nissan-Juke-Front-Angle-View

No American automaker would have the nerve to style anything like the controversial-looking, oddly named Nissan Juke.

Based on the proven Nissan Versa platform, the new four-door hatchback crossover has a slightly raised body with “hidden” rear door handles,” bulging fenders over big 17-inch wheels, high beltline, pinched tail and a coupe-like “falling” roofline.

But most will notice the Juke’s front end, which looks as if it came from four people who never saw what each other was doing.

The 2010 Lexus GX460 is ready for anything…except a small garage

Fresh off a recall for potential rollover problems, the 2010 Lexus GX460 showed up in my driveway all tall and confident.  With an updated exterior, the GX460 still looked spacious, large, and big.  It looked ready for anything, honestly.  Except a small garage.

2005-nissan-pathfinder

Nissan has just announced the third biggest recalll in the Japanese car companies history. A total of 2.14 million vehicles world wide are being recalled because they could have a faulty ignition relay that could cause the the car to stall of not start.

The fix?

Nissan will replace the ignition relay in a repair that should take under a half an hour.

Nissan thinks it will recall about  738,276 vehicles in the U.S. and 23,252 in Canada.

The recalled vehicles include the 2003-2006:

Review: Is 2011 Honda CR-Z hybrid trying too hard to be all things to all people?

2011-Honda-CR-Z-in-San-Francisco

Is Honda’s new CR-Z hybrid two-seater trying to be all things to all people by looking rakish and being both fun to drive and fuel-efficient enough to be “green?”

This gasoline-electric 2011 hybrid combines sportiness with efficiency, with its zoomy two-seat body, lively performance and adroit handling.

But the front-drive CR-Z is no sports car—or even much like the automaker’s tiny 1990 Insight two-seater, which was the first hybrid vehicle sold in North America. The more-practical Toyota Prius sedan then arrived and soon buried the Insight.

First look video: The Chrysler 300S HEMI is old school American muscle at its best

What’s the secret sauce that takes a bunch of raw material like metal, plastic, and rubber and glues them into the heart and soul of a car?

The 2010 Chrysler 300S HEMI may not be the newest American sedan on the block but it still is one of the one with the most heart and soul…not to mention that all important trait of just being plain cool and fun to drive.

Review the 2011 Subaru WRX STI: It was the best of cars – it was the worst of cars

Sti1

I have never gotten so many thumbs up while driving a brand new car.

For those who know, the 2011 Subaru WRX STI sedan is a rock star of a automobile, especially if you happen to be driving the all new sedan with the over-sized rear wing in bright “in your face” red as I was all week.

It’s funny how a slight tweak here and a slight tuck there, and of course the addition of trunk (instead of a hatchback fifth door) turns an ugly ducking into a double take hottie to some.

And of course by “some” I mean about every young man between the ages of 13 and 29. On the other hand my wife (half seriously) asked me if I could not park the STI in the driveway because it turned our house into the local party chapter of a CU frat.

For 2011 the Ford Explorer has been completely redesigned including a new updated interior and exterior plus seating for seven.

The 2011 Ford Explorer also gets a new terrain management system that lets drivers customize the car to the type of terrain they are on including mud, snow and sand.

After months of teasing Ford finally let us get our hands on the all new 2011 Ford Explorer. The new Explorer is no longer a traditional SUV, but instead a more car-like CUV including the fact that it now comes with a standard 6 and optional 4-cylinder turbo engine.

Video: Why you really need a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Bugat

Let’s face it nobody really needs a 1,200 horsepower supercar capable of 268 mph.

But perhaps that’s a lie.

If the thought of spending a couple of million dollars on a new car seems reasonable to you perhaps you need a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

Why?

Because it is the fastest production car ever built and of course you’ll be the top dog at the next Cars and Coffee.
