The all-new 2015 Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban have made their debut with more safety features, improved technology, and improved efficiency. That efficiency comes from improved aerodynamics that also create a quieter ride, and a new direct-injected EcoTec3 5.3L engine.
The Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban hold a lofty place in the full-size SUV segment. The Suburban basically founded the segment with its debut way back in 1935 and today celebrates its 80th anniversary with a 12th generation of the SUV. Combined with the segment sales leader Chevy Tahoe, the two vehicles account for nearly half of all full-size SUV sales.
Both vehicles will be offered in three trim levels of LS, LT and LTZ with features like fold-flat second and third row seats with available power-folding, an available 8″ color touch screen radio with MyLink, OnStar with 4G LTE connectivity and available WiFi hotspot and up to six USB ports and six power outlets. The Suburban will also have an available dual-screen, rear-seat entertainment system.
There’s also plenty of cargo room to haul all your family’s stuff. The 2015 Chevy Suburban will give you 121.1 cubic feet wile the 2015 Chevy Tahoe delivers 94.7 cubic feet.
A slew of technology features have been packed into both vehicles like radar to provide 360 degrees of crash avoidance, collision alert, front park assist, lane departure warning, lane change assist and Chevrolet’s Safety Alert seat that offers directional vibrations to warn of potential crashes.
The design, both inside and out, has been updated to give the 2015 Chevy Tahoe and 2015 Chevy Suburban a unique look with all the presence of a full-size SUV combined with more modern refinement. New doors now fit into body side openings to both improve efficiency and decrease cabin noise.
There are projector beam headlamps on either side of the signature dual-port grille which is in chrome on all models. LTZ models get high-intensity discharge lamps and light-emitting diode daytime running lamps along with a special chrome grille surround.
Drivers will also experience improved steering and braking thanks to a stronger, fully boxed perimeter frame. The 2015 Chevy Tahoe and 2015 Chevy Surburban also come with standard 18″ wheels with 20″ and 22″ inch wheels available, electric variable-assist power steering and a new four-wheel-disc brake system.
Under the hood you’ll find a 5.3L V-8 with direct injection, cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing. It’s paired to a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic with TapShift control, Tow/Haul mode and Auto Grade Braking. As for towing, the Tahoe can manage 8,600 pounds while the Suburban rates 8,300.
