2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Stays the Course With a Slight $500 Price Hike

We're looking at a still-new model here, so don't worry about any drastic changes

So far this year, Toyota dealers have shifted nearly 20,000 Land Cruiser SUVs.

Back when the Land Cruiser 200 Series was still on sale, Toyota could comfortably count on selling between about 3,000 and 4,000 examples each year. Things have changed with this new generation for the American market, though, since this midsize off-road-themed SUV is far more affordable than its predecessor. Nevertheless, it’s a new model year, and we are getting a little bit of a price bump with the Land Cruiser over its 2024 counterpart. That said, it’s a modest $500 more than it was before, so…could be worse.

As a result, the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 1958 — the base model with round LED headlights — is $57,900 to start. On top of the more distinctive look, you get cloth seats that are heated in the front, as well as an 8-inch infotainment setup with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The 1958 trim also gets 18-inch dark gray metallic wheels, a 2.4-kW AC inverter and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 as standard equipment.

All 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser models continue with the same powertrain. Each model comes with a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid powertrain, putting out 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. All Land Cruisers are four-wheel drive by default, while power makes its way to the ground through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

For the moment, at least, the only other trim for the 2025 Land Cruiser is…well, the Land Cruiser. There’s no longer a First Edition option (since we’re no longer on the first model year), so the non-1958 version serves as the upper trim this time around. The higher Land Cruiser model will set you back $63,900, and adds in a mixture of leatherette upholstery with ventilated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and infotainment screen, and an electronically disconnecting front sway bar. Unlike most SUVs on the road, you can actually tell the Land Cruiser apart from the base 1958 model by the headlights, which are rectangular on the more expensive trim. Heritage Blue is now available as a monotone option, though you still can get it in two-tone with Grayscape if you want.

Changes are fairly minor, but you do get better sensors to help detect motorcyclists as part of the driver assistance suite. The cargo area gets new integrated lights, and the lane-keeping assist system is enhanced to monitor the driver and bring the car to a stop if it detects the driver is having a medical emergency.

2025 Toyota Land Cruiser models will hit dealers later this month, and you can configure one right now.
