2025 Hyundai Tucson Gets a Mid-Cycle Update with Some New Tricks

Here’s what’s new for the Hyundai Tucson.

Hyundai updated the Tucson for 2025 with a host of new features to accompany its subtle facelift. From the outside, Hyundai revised the front and rear end styling including changes to the grille, lighting and wheels. Tucsons start with a 2.5L making 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic. Higher end hybrid Tucsons pair a 1.6L with a new 47.7kW electric motor for a total output of 231 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Plug-in Hybrid models have a more substantial new 72kW electric motor that boosts the combined horsepower to 268 and torque remains the same (258).

Standard hybrid cars use a 1.49kWh battery, while Plug-ins have a more substantial 13.8kWh battery pack. Hyundai claims the PHEV will charge at a level 2 charger in under two hours. Both Hybrids use a six-speed automatic and come standard with all-wheel drive, and PHEV models now have adjustable regenerative braking.

Arguably, the biggest changes are on the inside.

Hyundai updated the Tucson interior to reflect the rest of their lineup. Two 12.3-inch screens for the instruments and infotainment are an option on the revised interior. They redesigned the dash with physical controls for HVAC and volume, and a revised appearance. Heated steering wheel and even rear seats are an option.

How the interior looks depends on which trim you’re looking at. Pictured above is the more sporty N-Line trim with “N” badging and red accents throughout. Tucson’s now have the option of a 12-inch color Heads Up Display (HUD) as well. Directions through wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are compatible with the HUD.

There’s no word yet on the updated Tucson’s pricing.

If you have an older Hyundai Tucson, these updates aren’t enough to justify a trade-in. However, if you were already looking at the Tucson, Hyundai sweetened the deal with a host of incremental updates. To see our thoughts on the former car, check out the video linked below.
