If you want a turn-key solution to an even more capable Rubicon, this may be your answer.
It’s certainly no secret that the aftermarket community supporting the Jeep Wrangler is extensive. Since the JL launched in 2018, there’s been no shortage of shops willing to sell you whatever gear your heart desires, including the gear to lift your two-door Wrangler and put it on 35s. Jeep wants a slice of that action, though, and as they did with the Xtreme Recon package, there’s now the option to spec a Wrangler onto 35-inch tires with a lift from the factory: Meet the Xtreme 35 Tire Package.
To be clear, there are a few limitations with the package. It’s only available on the Willys, Rubicon and Rubicon X trims (so you can’t pair this factory package with the base Sport or Sport S), and it only comes with the 2.0-liter turbo engine. You cannot get it with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, nor is it compatible with the 4xe, since the plug-in hybrid is already four-door only.
Other than those few restrictions, though, the Xtreme 35 Tire Package does exactly what its name implies. You get a set of 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires, as well as a 17-by-8-inch beadlock capable wheels and a 1.5-inch suspension lift. Since we’re talking about a shorter wheelbase, though, you also get some mind-boggling capability on the trails.
In fact, a 2024 Jeep Wrangler with the Xtreme 35 Tire Package enables an approach angle of 47.2 degrees, a breakover angle of 32.4 degrees and a departure angle of 40.4 degrees (up from 44/27.8/37 respectively). Thanks to the larger tires, ground clearance also goes up to 12.6 inches (up from 10 inches), while water fording capability also increases to 34 inches (up from 30 inches). “Xtreme” two-door Wranglers also get a reinforced swing gate to handle the larger spare tire, and a 4.56:1 rear axle ratio. So, you may not have the quietest or most economical driving experience on the road, but boy, will you be able to go anywhere you please off the beaten track.
The Xtreme 35 Tire Package is available for a $4,495 premium on the Willys or Rubicon. It comes standard on the Rubicon X, which carries a starting price of $64,190, including Jeep’s $1,895 destination fee. That is a huge amount of money for a two-door Wrangler, to be sure, but it may balance out if you aren’t spending thousands of extra dollars on mods. Well, at least not those mods…let’s be honest, folks will still dump thousands of extra dollars into these Xtreme-ified Wranglers to tailor their rigs to their needs.
Order books for the Xtreme 35 Tire Package are open now. Jeep, for its part, says production of vehicles equipped with this package will begin in March.
