Mazda recently unveiled the 2019 Mazda3 at the 2018 LA Auto Show. However, pricing was still a mystery to us journalists. Well, Mazda just revealed pricing here in the US for all different versions of the 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine. Here is what we have:
Trim | Hatchback | Sedan |
FWD 6A/T | $23,600 | $21,000 |
Select Package FWD 6A/T | N/A | $22,600 |
Preferred Package FWD 6A/T | $25,200 | $24,200 |
Premium Package FWD 6M/T | $27,500 | N/A |
Premium Package FWD 6A/T | $27,500 | $26,500 |
AWD 6A/T | $25,000 | N/A |
Select Package AWD 6A/T | N/A | $24,000 |
Preferred Package AWD 6A/T | $26,600 | $25,600 |
Premium Package AWD 6A/T | $28,900 | $27,900 |
That 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine makes 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to your choice of the front wheels, or all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Though, a 6-speed manual is available for the FWD Premium Package Hatchback version.
Price Differences?
Across the board, you can expect to pay at least $1,000 more for the hatchback version. Similarly, AWD is an up-charge of $1,400 across the board. We knew the manual wouldn’t be available in every trim. However, it seems the manual transmission is only available on the hatchback version of the FWD Premium Package cars, starting at $27,500.
What about Skyactiv-X?
This information still does not paint a complete picture, though. We also know that the 2019 Mazda3 will be available with Mazda’s all-new Skyactiv-X engine. While we expect this engine to come at a more premium cost, there is no word on how much extra you will have to pay for that option.
Fancy paint, too
With the pricing announcement, Mazda also gave pricing for select premium paint colors: Soul Red Crystal ($595), Machine Gray Metallic ($300), and Snowflake White Pearl Mica ($200).
