Has Volvo built one of its best luxury sedans ever with the 2017 S90 T6?
TFL’s Roman Mica and Nathan Adlen had the chance to find out firsthand recently when they test drove the new vehicle.
The version tested had a price tag of $66,105. The S90’s 2.0-liter engine makes 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The four-cylinder engine also is turbo- and supercharged, giving it even more pep.
Both Roman and Nathan said vehicle is quick off the line, and the styling leaves its competitors in the dust.
One of the features Roman liked was the beautiful sloping roofline that gives the sedan the look of a hatchback. Inside the trunk, there’s about 13.5 cubic feet of storage space that comes with a ski pass-through.
As for the steering feel, Roman and Nathan said they feel that needs to be improved, explaining there’s not a lot of communication between the steering and the road.
Inside, Nathan said the look was incredible. The designers made excellent use of fabric, wood and metal, creating an interior that’s unlike any other in its class. Nathan said Tesla hired the designer from Volvo to create the interior look and feel for its vehicles to add more luxury and class.
How roomy was the backseat area? What other features does the S90 T6 have that Roman and Nathan liked? And, overall how did they feel about the Volvo? Find out by watching the complete TFL video above.
