The all-new 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is finally coming to the United States. This is the 10th generation of the car and it grows slightly in size. The base power comes courtesy of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque at a low 1,300 rpm. This engine is paired to the 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. Mercedes rates the base E300 at 6.2 seconds 0-60 MPH.
However, the starting price remains reasonable. The 2017 E300 rear-wheel-drive starts at $52,150 before destination charges. This is $500 lower than the base price of the outgoing 2016 E250 BlueTEC, although it’s not an apples to apples comparison to the gasoline powered E300.
The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive version of the E300 starts at $54,650. The AWD car is 143 pounds heavier than the RWD version, but it can still dispatch a 0-60 MPH run in 6.3 seconds, according to Mercedes.
We are working hard to bring you the first drive video of the all-new E-Class. In the meantime, please enjoy this first drive of its smaller brother – the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe.
