Familiar faces are returning to network television’s longest running sci-fi series, The X-Files. Members of the original cast will be joined by cameo appearances by Ford Explorer, Escape, Mustang and Taurus throughout the six-episode mini-series.
“Pairing the vehicle that set the bar for SUVs with the show that set the standard for sci-fi television is a great relationship,” said Ginger Kasanic, Ford marketing manager, SUVs and technology. “To be a part of an iconic television show that is so technology-centric is a perfect fit for Explorer – a vehicle loaded with driver-assist technology.”
The series was popular the first time around, when it ran from 1993 to 2002. After the first episode’s special debut on Sunday, January 24, the next episode will run the following day on Monday at 8 p.m. ET, which will serve as the series’ official time slot for the duration. Watch for the Ford Explorer Platinum to appear as FBI Agent Dana Scully’s government issued transportation on the second night of the show’s two-part premiere
X-Files is scheduled to broadcast approximately 10 p.m. EST/7 p.m. PST on FOX, immediately after the NFC Championship game. After more than a decade, how does the returning conspiracy-theory-laden cult TV show stand up to the original series? Will our favorite FBI agents, Mulder and Scully, ever find “the truth?”
