The 2015 Toyota Corolla cleaned house in January 2015 compact sedan sales with a significant 20.2-percent increase and 27,357 units heading out the door. The same cannot be said for the 2015 Honda Civic as it headed backwards with a worrying decrease of -14.3 percent. The Civic is now locked in a death match for second place with the 2015 Chevy Cruze and 2015 Ford Focus; just over 200 units separate these three. The Focus did very well with sales growth of 53.9 percent.
The fight for fifth place may have been decided as the Nissan Sentra made a huge jump up with a 57.7-percent increase, leaping over the declining 2015 Hyundai Elantra and 2015 VW Jetta.
All other compact sedans showed very strong double-digit growth with the 2015 Dodge Dart and the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer as standouts. The Lancer is a small-volume seller, but was the best improved when gauged over all compact sedans.
