Audi has been known for LED lighting technology for a long time. Now, the 2015 Audi R8 LMX is pushing the envelope with LaserLight headlight technology. This technology was first developed and used on the Audi R18 e-tron Quattro Le Mans series race cars. And now, this technology is starting to trickle down to production cars. For now, it’s the limited edition R8 LMX road car, but the technology will get more affordable and become available on other cars.
The 2015 Audi S3 enjoys full-LED headlights, a technology that was introduced on race cars and the Audi R8 many years ago. This is truely motorsports technology transfer at work.
Audi developed the high-pressure FSI injection on Le Mans race cars, and it is now in every gasoline car they sell. The same goes for many other technologies and components.
