Roman and I are at the 2015 Audi A3 press event, we get a quick view of the base model (about $31,000) 2015 Audi A3 1.8 FWD. That’s right, it’s not an AWD Quattro. Although we cannot comment on the driving impressions of the 2015 Audi A3, (the embargo lifts Monday) we can show a few snapshots and surmise that the 2015 Audi A3 should directly challenge the Mercedes-Benz CLA.
The 2015 Audi A3 comes with a 170 horsepower 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 200 lbs-feet of torque. The only transmission (currently) offered is a six-speed Audi S-Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. The hatchback is gone.
